ONE PROJECT FOR THE FUTURE, CARE AND RESPONSIBILITY!
This project aims to demonstrate a responsible and sustainable model of creating a building.By restoring a shelter 50 years after it was built, remind us that we are all part of the circle of life and nothing is forever. But we leave behind a trace that continues in the next generation and we are responsible for the inheritance we leave. Our Shelter will be restored to the principles and methods of Sustainable Building and Architecture. Trying to solve the problems and restore the smallest building unit from the future. Because we want to bequeath the following after us, not only a better living environment but also sustainable values, reminding us that man and nature are interconnected. Each of us is responsible for what he leaves behind! In this project, too, we want to express the concern for man in the harsh conditions of the mountain. Under conditions of about 2,000 meters above sea level, the Shelter may be the only "capsule of life" in which you can hide from the harsh conditions. The shelter will be built, assembled, laid, its going to “live” and will be destroyed without damaging the nature with which we are connected. The impacts that we cause to her actually influences our lives. We believe that every action remains in time after us. We will continue the life of the Shelter established 50 years ago, linking the past, present and future of 2050. To be responsible and conscious of the future, because today we are building tomorrow. To be in harmony with nature today. The Future Starts Today! Boryana and Andreya Momerin on behalf of the INITIATORS
Conducting the competition and developing a conceptual design is part of the process of restoring a shelter in the "Three Wells" area. It was built in the 40s-50s of the last century in a typical style for such facilities in Vitosha, but with the years it was destroyed and only a part of the foundations are currently available. They will also be used as such for the new assembled module. Restoration of the shelter is a project that has not been implemented since 50 years in Bulgaria. The goal is to restore an object that at the same time demonstrates architecture from 2050. Using state-of-the-art and sustainable materials that do not pollute the environment. The implementation of this project is part of BRING's initiative to build five super pavilions.
HISTORY AND CONTEXT
Vitosha is the only domed mountain on the territory of Bulgaria, which should influence the architectural decision. The characteristics of the mountain have an impact on climatic and atmospheric conditions, which is expressed in a pronounced mountainous climate, a high mountainous part, strong western and northwest winds, a considerable number of foggy days, a holding snow cover of 5 to 7 months of the year, low temperatures, rapidly changing atmospheric conditions.
